How to Watch Roland Garros Online in 2015

How to Watch Roland Garros Online in 2015The French Open or Roland Garros (offically named Les internationaux de France de Tennis, Roland Garros) is my favorite Grand Slam of the year and I can’t wait to see the players in action. This post explains how you can watch the matches live online and on TV.

The 114th edition of Roland Garros takes place between 24th of May and 7th of June on outdoor clay courts.  It consists of events for professional players in singles, doubles and mixed doubles play.

Rafael Nadal is the defending champion in the men’s single after last year win against Novak Djokovic. The 2014 victory made Nadal the first player to have won 5 consecutive Roland Garros titles. That is fantastic! Will Nadal succeed in winning the his 6th title? What do you think?

In the women’s single Maria Sharapova is the defending champion. The last year final against Simona Halep, the new rising star in women tennis, was really interesting. Will Serena Williams win this year? Or will Simona Help win her first Grand Slam title? We will see, while enjoying the tournament.

Back to the 2015 edition, the tournament schedule is the following:

  • Sunday, May 24 – 1st Round (Men and Women)
  • Monday, May 25 – 1st Round (Men and Women)

How to watch the French Open 2015 online

Several of the TV channels listed above also stream the matches online. It is difficult to list them all, but here are best of them:

You may also use SopCast for accessing TV channels on your computer or Android devices.  After the installation, start the application and look for a TV channel that broadcasts Roland Garros.  The quality of the transmission is rather poor, but it is better than nothing.

Is there a way to unblock restricted channels to watch Roland Garros 2015? Yes, there is!

Most of the channels that stream the French Open 2015 matches online are geo-restricted, meaning that they are only available for users located in certain locations. For example, ITV live streaming can be accessed only by Internet users from UK, ESPN transmission is available only for US Internet users, etc.

These restrictions can be bypassed with the use of a VPN or Smart DNS service. Such services are able to unlock the access and let you watch the matches on your computer or mobile devices.

You may find below a list of the VPN and DNS services that I recommend:

Name Service Type Price
ibVPN / ibDNS VPN and DNS $7.95/month
HideMyAss VPN $11.52/month
PureVPN VPN and DNS $9.95/month
Unotelly DNS $4.95/month

Please feel free to share other VPN or DNS services that you use to unlock restricted websites.

Conclusion

The top tournament played on clay court is probably the most spectacular of the year. As listed above there are more than 100 TV channels that show the matches live. In order to enjoy the Roland Garros online you may use SopCast or get access to a channel that streams the matches live.  Enjoy!
