How to watch Wimbledon 2014 online

Wimbledon 2014 is also streamed live online on several sites. Probably the best option is the BBC iPlayer with up to 12 live streams across any device. The access is free in UK, but restricted to users from other locations across the World.

American tennis fans need a proper cable subscription (Comcast, Cox and AT&T) in order to access WatchESPN.com. The transmission covers multiple courts and it is available for computers, mobile devices, XBox and Apple TV.

How to watch Wimbledon 2014 live online from outside UK and US

Don’t you have access to a TV to watch the Wimbledon 2014 live? Do you want to see it on your tablet or smartphone?

You may do so by getting access to BBC iPlayer. If you are located outside UK you need a solution to unlock the site access. This is usually done using VPN or DNS/SmartDNS services. The result is basically the same, but most of the time DNS solution works better as they do not slow down the streaming.

Thus, you either need a VPN service that provides access to servers located in UK (most of them do) or a DNS service that unlocks BBC iPlayer.

Let me list several good options for both VPN and DNS services:

Name Service Type Price
ibVPN / ibDNS VPN and DNS $7.95/month
HideMyAss VPN $11.52/month
PureVPN VPN $9.95/month
Unotelly DNS $4.95/month

Please feel free to share other VPN or DNS services that you use to unlock BBC iPlayer.

Conclusion

In my opinion, Wimbledon is the most interesting Grand Slam of the year and I look forward to see the final stages of the competition. As presented in the article above, the Championship is screened both on TV and online, available for tennis fans all over the World. Enjoy!
